“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” -Romans 6:1
There is no place we could go where God’s love isn’t there. Wherever we are, when we are losing our way, his love carries us and brings us back to Him. God is a father and a lover and He is full of love towards us. That is why God doesn’t want us to keep on sinning.
Galatians 5:1 says, it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. A life that is fully yielded to Christ must be changed. We can not know God, and yet remain to our sinful nature.
There are times that we tend to ‘abuse’ God’s love for us. The Bible says that His love is immeasurable– it is so wide, so deep, so great. And we know it. But how do we abuse God’s love for us? It is when we keep on sinning and take for granted the voice of the Holy Spirit convicting us because we thought “God is patient and full of love anyway.” Yes, this is all true. But let us not forget that He wants us to change, to be free, to be holy. We are free from sin, not free to sin! We don’t want to abuse God’s love, instead, we want to enjoy it!
