Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was once known as an atheist. He does not believe in God. He does not believe in the importance of religion. But last Christmas, he stunned the social media by posting a ‘Merry Christmas’ greeting on his verified facebook account. It reads:
Out of surprise, someone curiously responded to his post, “But aren’t you atheist?” Zuckerberg replied saying “No. I was raised Jewish and then I went through a period where I questioned things, but now I believe religion is very important.”
Like many people, Zuckerberg has also experienced being in search of answers. But now, he has declared that he is not an atheist anymore. He has left his unbelief of God behind and now embracing a new path of faith. He did not explicitly say which religion he is into now. However, it is still a good step of faith to denounce atheism and begin to have a hunger to know who God is.
Let us pray that as he sails into this next chapter of his life, God will meet him and show him that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). As Christians, our role is to intercede for him that he will be able to find God in his new journey and that God will reveal Himself to him in a deeper way. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” May God bless your new journey, Mark Zuckerberg!
